Geo-referenced Aerial Imaging & Mapping (GAIM)
The heart of our aerial imaging products is the GAIM System
(Geo-referenced Aerial Imaging & Mapping) developed by Taiga Air
Services. The GAIM system processes imagery from our camera
sources (digital video, FLIR and photo) and embeds a GPS-based geo-code
on each individual frame. Once coded, the digital imagery is
recoverable by position and/or time, and further processed into a
multi-media map.
Multi-media maps allow clients to access and share data gathered from
flight as photos, video or thermal scan in a practical format. As
well, client-supplied data such as filed reports or historical image
data can be easily added to our interactive maps. Access to
information is as simple as clicking on a map location.
